Dr. A.F. Annie Raja, Principal of St. Isabel’s College of Nursing, is a seasoned leader in nursing education with 35 years of dedicated service to the profession. Her contributions span academic excellence, policy development, and leadership, shaping the future of nursing in Tamil Nadu.
She holds prominent roles, serving as a member of The Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council and the Board of Studies at The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University. Additionally, she is the Treasurer of the Trained Nurses’ Association of India (TNAI) – Tamil Nadu Branch, reinforcing her commitment to advancing nursing standards and professional development.
A prolific academic contributor, Dr. Raja has co-authored textbooks for higher secondary courses, the DGNM curriculum, and online modules, ensuring accessible and high-quality nursing education. She is a renowned conference organizer and speaker, having facilitated numerous workshops and participated in national and international conferences, strengthening nursing education and leadership.

Dr. S. Vijayalakshmi RN., RM., Ph.D.,

With 27 years of expertise in clinical practice, teaching, research, and administration, Dr. S. Vijayalakshmi has been a driving force in nursing education. A PhD guide across three universities, she has mentored 12 doctoral scholars to success.
She has played a key role in policy-making and education, serving six years as a Governing Council Member and 18 years as a Senate Member at The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University. As a Government Nominee for the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council (2011–2017), she shaped nursing standards. Additionally, she has held leadership roles in TNAI, serving as Vice President (2011–2016) and Secretary (2022–2026).
A dedicated educator, she co-developed online teaching modules for Anatomy and Research, ensuring accessible learning. A respected speaker, she has delivered 140 presentations at major State, National, and International conferences. She also serves as an Editorial Advisory Board Member for multiple nursing journals.
